The short version
The short answer
Complianz is a capable WordPress plugin with a fair yearly price and no pageview limits. TagSentry is one line that works on any site, sets Google's consent defaults before any tag runs, and adds live monitoring. If you're all-in on WordPress and happy with its wizard, Complianz is a reasonable choice.
Where Complianz is better
- Native to WordPress. Settings live in your WordPress admin, and it hooks into WordPress plugins directly. Our WordPress plugin isn't published yet; today you paste one line in your theme header.
- Flat yearly price. $59 a year for one site, with no usage metering at all.
- Policy documents. It can generate a cookie policy and privacy statement.
Where TagSentry is better
- Timing. A common complaint with plugin-based banners is Consent Mode arriving late in the page, after tags have read their defaults. Our line sits first in
<head>and sets the defaults before any tag reads them. - No wizard. Paste one line. Pasting it proves you own the domain. We scan your site, sort every tracker by purpose and tell you what we decided.
- Any platform. WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Squarespace or your own code, all managed from one login.
- Monitoring. Watch events and the tags they fired, and get one email when an event stops.
- Storage choice. Consent records are stored in the EU or US, your choice per site, and kept 24 months.
Price, side by side
Prices read in September 2026.
| Complianz | TagSentry Consent | |
|---|---|---|
| 1 site | $59 a year | Free to 5,000 decisions a month, then from $9 a month |
| 5 sites | $179 a year | Each site priced on its own use |
| Limits | Unlimited pageviews | Billed by decisions; the banner never stops |
For a single low-traffic WordPress site, Complianz can cost less over a year. TagSentry's free plan covers many small sites entirely.
Switching
- Scan your site free to see whether your banner stops your trackers.
- Create a site and copy its one line.
- Deactivate Complianz. Clear any caching plugin afterwards.
- Paste our line in your theme header, right after
<head>, above Tag Manager. Make sure no optimisation plugin makes it load late or deferred. - Connect Tag Manager if you use it, and approve the plan.
Complianz records don't transfer. Export them first. Visitors are asked again once.
Questions
Will a caching or speed plugin break it?
Some optimisation plugins defer scripts. Exclude our line from deferral, so it keeps running first.
Is there a WordPress plugin?
It's built but not published yet. Pasting the line works on every WordPress site today.
