Event monitoring

Know your tracking works. Without checking.

Every purchase, sign-up and lead your site sends, watched on real visits. When one stops, you get one email that day. On paid plans, you also hear the day a key event arrives without its value. You never have to log in to check.

Purchase stopped arriving

TagSentry · 09:14 · to you

We haven't seen a purchase since 09:12. Your other events are still arriving, so a change to the checkout is the likely cause.

One email when it breaks, one when it recovers.

The sale that shipped empty

The purchase tag fires, so everything looks fine. But value and currency are blank, and your ad account learns every sale was worth nothing.

The tag that quietly stopped

A site update renames a button and the conversion never fires again. Most teams find out weeks later, in a report that looks normal.

The pixel nobody remembers

A test tag or an old agency's pixel still sends data every day. It shows up in Flow the moment it fires.

Flow

From the click to where the data went.

Pick an event and see each tag it fired and every host those tags sent to. Tags that waited for consent are listed separately, so a missing tag has a reason next to it.

  • Live, or any window up to your history.
  • Every source: Tag Manager and pixels in your theme.

Inspect

The shape of what was sent. Never the values.

Open any event to see exactly which fields arrived and what type each one was. When something is empty, it's marked, and one button copies a plain summary to send whoever built your site.

  • Values stay in the visitor's browser.
  • Mark your conversions as key events, and we watch them closest.

One email when it breaks. One when it's back.

No reminders, no daily digests you learn to ignore. Alerts go to the owner by default, and to anyone you add.

Monitoring questions.

Do I need the cookie banner to use monitoring?

No. The same line runs monitoring with the banner off. A monitoring-only site gets no consent settings from us, so Google's tags behave exactly as they did before.

Do I need Google Tag Manager?

No. The one-line tag already sees pixels pasted into your theme and names the event for Meta, GA4 and Pinterest. With Tag Manager connected, we add a small reporter tag in one press and you see every tag by name.

What do you record about my visitors?

The shape of each payload, never its values: that value was a number and currency a three-letter string, not what they were. Plus which host each tag sent to and the event name for a few known trackers. Nothing that identifies a person.

Why do I see fewer events than GA4?

Monitoring follows consent too. In ask-first regions like the EU it only runs for visitors who agreed. In opt-out regions it runs until someone opts out. That's correct, and the count says which visitors it covers.

Will it catch a spike or duplicate conversions?

Not as an alert yet. Alerts cover events that stop, arrive empty or drop, and new trackers. A spike is visible on the Events screen as it happens.

How is this different from Tag Assistant or Preview mode?

Preview shows your own browser, while you're watching. Monitoring watches real visitors all day and tells you when something changes. You find out on the day, not at month end.
