The short version

The short answer

CookieYes is an easy, popular banner, especially on WordPress, and its paid plans start at $10. TagSentry starts at $9, gives every visitor the rules for where they are on every plan, keeps your banner up whatever happens with your allowance, and shows you live which tags fired.

Where CookieYes is better

  • WordPress install. It's a plugin you add from the WordPress dashboard. Our WordPress plugin isn't published yet, so today you paste one line in your theme's header or a header-scripts plugin.
  • More in one account. CookieYes bundles extras like a privacy policy generator. We don't write policies.
  • TCF. CookieYes supports IAB TCF. TagSentry does not offer it today.
  • Track record. It has a large install base and years of support history.

Where TagSentry is better

  • If GA4 dropped after you installed CookieYes, the usual cause is one strict rule applied to every visitor, or Google's tags blocked outright instead of sending cookieless signals. Here's how to tell which, and TagSentry's regional rules are built to avoid both.
  • Your banner keeps running. Pass the free allowance and your banner still shows and still holds trackers. With a card on file, the site moves to the next price automatically (you can turn that off). Without one, we tell you first.
  • Regional rules on every plan. Visitors in the EU, UK, Switzerland, Brazil, Quebec and more are asked first. California and other US states get opt-out rules, and a privacy signal (GPC) is honoured where the law requires it. Some tools keep geo-targeting for their pricier plans.
  • Monitoring. See every event and the tags it fired, with the shape of what they sent. If an event stops, you get one email.
  • Storage choice. EU or US storage for every site, including Free.
  • What we decided, in plain words. Every tracker gets a purpose. If our AI sorted it, it says so, and you can change it.

CookieYesTagSentry Consent
Free5,000 pageviews a month5,000 decisions a month
Entry paid$10 per domain a month (100,000 pageviews)$9 per site a month (25,000 decisions)
Next$25 (300,000 pageviews)$19 (100,000 decisions)
Top$55 (unlimited)$99 (2 million decisions), then $20 per extra million

The units differ. CookieYes counts pageviews. We count decisions: a visitor answering your banner. Returning visitors whose choice is remembered are not billed, so most sites record far fewer decisions than pageviews.

Switching

  1. Scan your site free to see whether your banner stops your trackers.
  2. Create a site and copy its one line.
  3. Deactivate the CookieYes plugin or remove its script.
  4. Paste our line first in <head>, above your Tag Manager code.
  5. If you use Tag Manager, connect it and review the plan. Nothing is written until you approve.

CookieYes records don't transfer. Export them first. Visitors are asked again the first time they see the new banner.

Questions

Is TagSentry cheaper?

At the entry level, slightly: $9 against $10. The bigger difference is what the unit is, and that the banner never stops at a limit.

Do I need Tag Manager?

No. The line works on any site you can paste into.
