Pick OneTrust if

  • Privacy is a program with a team, not a banner
  • You need TCF, a certified CMP, or many languages reviewed
  • Procurement wants an established enterprise vendor

Pick TagSentry if

  • You want a public price and no sales call
  • Your team runs Google Tag Manager without a privacy engineer
  • You want to see that tags respect consent, live

The short version

The short answer

OneTrust is built for companies running a privacy program: assessments, vendor risk, data mapping and consent across dozens of properties. If that's you, it's a reasonable choice. If you need a banner that applies the right rules per region, a record you can export, and proof your tags still work, TagSentry does that for a price you can read on the page.

Where OneTrust is better

  • Breadth. Consent is one module in a much larger privacy suite. If you also need DPIAs, vendor risk reviews and data mapping, OneTrust covers them. TagSentry does not.
  • Multi-property governance at scale. It is known for managing consent across many brands and domains, with enterprise roles and workflows.
  • TCF and certification. OneTrust supports IAB TCF and is a Google-certified CMP. TagSentry does not offer TCF today.
  • Procurement comfort. Large buyers often need security certifications and a vendor their legal team already knows. We are a young company without a SOC 2 report yet.

Where TagSentry is better

  • A price on the page. Free up to 5,000 decisions a month per site, then from $9. No quote, no annual minimum.
  • Setup without a specialist. One line above your Tag Manager code. Pasting it also proves you own the domain. Home tells you in one sentence what's working.
  • It works with Tag Manager, not against it. A common complaint about enterprise CMPs in Tag Manager is consent arriving after purchase events, so tags drop without anyone noticing. Our line runs first by document order and sets Google's consent defaults before any tag reads them.
  • Monitoring in the same product. See which events and tags fired, and get one email when something stops.
  • EU or US storage on every plan, including Free.

Switching

  1. Scan your site free to see whether your banner stops your trackers.
  2. Create a site and copy its one line.
  3. Remove the OneTrust script or its Tag Manager template.
  4. Paste our line first in <head>, above Tag Manager.
  5. Connect Tag Manager if you use it. We show you the change plan and write nothing until you approve. Every change is a new version in your container, whose notes name the one it replaced.

OneTrust consent records do not transfer. Export them before you cancel. Visitors are asked again the first time they see the new banner.

Questions

Can TagSentry handle several brands?

Yes. One login can hold many businesses and sites, and each site is priced on its own usage.

Is TagSentry a full privacy platform?

No. We do consent and tag monitoring, and we do them well. For assessments and vendor risk, you'd still need another tool.
