The short version
The short answer
Termly is a good pick if you want a privacy policy generator and a banner from one vendor. TagSentry doesn't write policies. It gives each visitor the rules for where they are, keeps the record, and shows you live which tags fired, with monthly billing you can stop from the dashboard.
Where Termly is better
- Policy generators. Termly writes privacy policies, terms and other documents. We don't.
- TCF. Its Pro+ plan supports IAB TCF. TagSentry doesn't offer TCF today.
- A generous free banner-view allowance for very small sites.
Where TagSentry is better
- Regional rules on every plan. Termly keeps regional rules for Pro+. On TagSentry, every plan asks first in the EU, UK, Switzerland, Brazil, Quebec and more and uses opt-out rules in California and the other US states.
- Monthly and easy to stop. Recent reviews of Termly describe trouble cancelling. On TagSentry, moving a site back to Free is your click, any month, and the banner keeps running.
- Monitoring. See which events and tags fired, and get one email when one stops.
- Holds trackers outside Tag Manager. Pixels pasted into your theme that our scan finds wait for consent too.
- Storage choice on every plan: EU or US.

Switching
- Scan your site free to see whether your banner stops your trackers.
- Create a site and copy its one line.
- Remove Termly's banner script. Keep your Termly policies if you like: our banner can link to them.
- Paste our line first in
<head>, above Tag Manager. - Connect Tag Manager if you use it, and approve the plan.
Termly consent records don't transfer. Export them first. Visitors are asked again once.
Questions
Can I keep my Termly privacy policy?
Yes. Point the banner's privacy link at it. You can change the link any time.
Is TagSentry legal advice?
No. We apply each region's published rules and keep the proof, and we say what we decided for each tracker.
