Connect Google Tag Manager
Let TagSentry read your containers, sort every tag by purpose, and write consent settings only when you approve them.
You don't need Tag Manager to use TagSentry. If you have it, connecting it lets us read every tag and set each one's consent settings for you.
Connect
Go to Settings › Sources and choose Connect. You sign in with Google and grant read access. We ask for write access only when you approve a change, and never before.
A site can have more than one container. Each appears under Sources, with whether we can open it.
Every tag, sorted
On Trackers, every tag gets a purpose: Necessary, Analytics, Advertising or Functional. We decide in this order:
- your own choice, which always wins and survives rescans,
- our vendor table,
- an AI read of the tag, marked AI-classified · Confirm,
- a safe default.
We decide and say what we decided. An AI-classified tag is live as shown; confirming it just records that a person looked. Move any tag to another purpose and it stays there.
The change plan
Under What we'd change in Tag Manager you see exactly which consent settings each tag would get. Nothing changes in Tag Manager until you approve it.
When you approve, we make the change in one batch as a new version in your own container, whose notes name the version it replaced. Publishing is a separate press.
Putting it back
While our version is still the live one, the Trackers page shows Put version N back, which republishes the version from before ours. If someone has published a newer version since, we stop and ask rather than overwrite their work.
You can always go back in Tag Manager too: every change we make is its own version there, so publishing an earlier one undoes it.
